I want to become an educator so I can help children grow and learn in a positive, inclusive environment. Another reason for me is I enjoy being around children’s carefree, positive, curious attitudes. I feel as though it transfers over into my own life in a way that helps me to be more positive and joyous in everyday life. I love to see children grow, discover and learn new things as it is so awesome to see them be so excited and amazed by things that have become mundane to us as adults. When it comes to my philosophy as a teacher, I believe that every child has the right to an education that will provide them with the skills to not only grow academically but also gain the skills and knowledge to live a skillful, positive life. I believe that in an ideal early childhood learning environment children are provided with ample space, materials that provide them with the ability to grow and learn, as well as a teacher who is kind, patient, loves to learn and promotes safety. I believe that it is my duty as an educator to provide my students with a learning environment that best fits their learning styles, personalities and needs as a person. I will use my skills of kindness, inclusivity, communication and patience to create an environment where my students can grow, learn and find enjoyment in expanding their knowledge and skill sets. The learning style I find myself using most is hands-on learning. I enjoy being at the children’s level and working with them one on one to help them understand concepts. While this is my go-to teaching style I also can recognize and understand the importance of taking each child’s learning style and incorporating it into the lessons and activities. In conclusion my main goal as a teacher is to help my students grow educationally and in life skills in a learning environment that is positive and encouraging and fosters their love to learn.
